What is decimal time?

The metric system, which defines kilograms and litres, is based around the idea that calculating things is a lot easier when using multiples of 10. One meter equals 10 decimeters, equals 100 centimeters, equals 1,000 millimeters and so forth.

People have tried to apply the same idea to the amount of time in a day, and the result is called a decimal time system.
